A Heritage Hotel With Plenty More to Offer.
Mount Lavinia Hotel is one of Sri Lanka's most recognizable hospitality landmarks, known for its history, architecture and beachfront setting. But beyond its heritage, the hotel has an incredibly diverse calendar. Live music, themed dining, food festivals, seasonal celebrations and cultural events regularly bring something different to the property.
Each experience has its own audience, its own selling points and its own creative possibilities. A Beatles tribute night needs a different approach from a Father's Day brunch, while a themed food promotion speaks to different interests than a cultural event.
The challenge wasn't a lack of things to promote. It was making sure these experiences received the attention they deserved without losing the hotel's wider identity in the process.
We brought them together through a coordinated approach to content marketing, production and paid media, creating a digital presence that could keep pace with the hotel's calendar while giving audiences fresh reasons to visit.

Mount Lavinia Hotel had something new to communicate almost every week. Keeping that momentum going on social media meant making the hotel's calendar feel like a collection of experiences worth exploring, rather than a succession of event announcements.
Through Facebook and Instagram, we developed a consistent flow of content that balanced regular promotions with more occasion-specific creative. The focus was on keeping the hotel's social presence active, recognizable and interesting to audiences with different reasons for visiting.

A busy events calendar can easily become a stream of posters announcing what's happening next. We wanted the hotel's social media to offer something more.
Our content planning brought together themed dining campaigns, live entertainment, lifestyle content and seasonal celebrations, adapting formats and messaging to suit the occasion.
The result was a social presence that could move naturally between regular dining promotions and one-off events, maintaining a recognizable identity without making every campaign look or sound the same.
The range of events gave us plenty of creative territory to explore.
Our campaign work covered Volkswagen Day, Beatles Mania at The Hut, World Gin Day, Father's Day Jazz Brunch, Taco Tuesdays, themed food promotions and World Oceans Day.
Each called for a distinct visual treatment. Beatles Mania, for instance, offered an opportunity to lean into nostalgic entertainment, while Father's Day Jazz Brunch needed to communicate a particular dining occasion. Other promotions drew on food, culture or the atmosphere surrounding the event.
This variety allowed us to create campaigns with their own personality while keeping Mount Lavinia Hotel recognizable throughout.

There's a difference between announcing an event and showing people what it actually feels like to be there.
With live performances, food experiences and cultural celebrations happening across the property, Mount Lavinia Hotel gave us plenty to capture. But the atmosphere of an event isn't something a promotional poster can fully communicate.
Our photography and videography work brought those experiences into the hotel's content, giving audiences a closer look at the people, settings and moments behind each occasion.
Event coverage often meant working across different environments, with several things happening at once.
We deployed production teams of two to three people across different locations, capturing performances, guests, food, atmosphere and the smaller moments that brought each event to life.
For occasions such as Volkswagen Day, Beatles Mania at The Hut and World Gin Day, being on-site gave us the opportunity to document the experience as it unfolded rather than relying on staged promotional material.

Having multiple team members present meant we could capture different perspectives, from the energy of live entertainment to the details of a dining experience.
The resulting photography and video gave individual campaigns richer visual material while building a versatile content library for the hotel's social media, promotional campaigns and future use.

Not every hotel promotion needs to open with a venue shot or a list of offers. Sometimes, a good story can introduce an experience more naturally.
For selected Mount Lavinia Hotel campaigns, we developed concept-driven commercials built around short skits and entertaining scenarios.
The idea was to give viewers something worth watching in its own right, while making the hotel's offering part of the narrative rather than simply placing it in front of the camera.
A promotional video doesn't always need to begin with the promotion itself.
For Mount Lavinia Hotel, the opportunity was to make an experience part of a story rather than simply something being advertised.
Using short, relatable scenarios, we introduced the hotel's offerings through situations that could entertain viewers while giving the promotional message a natural place in the narrative.
It was a way to make a commercial memorable for its idea, not just the event it was promoting.

The hotel's social content and event coverage gave us a steady supply of promotional material. The next challenge was getting individual campaigns in front of people who might not already follow Mount Lavinia Hotel.
We used Meta Ads to extend that reach across Facebook and Instagram, shaping audiences around the interests associated with each promotion.
The approach combined targeted distribution with ongoing performance monitoring, allowing the hotel's diverse calendar to reach beyond its existing community.
We developed targeted campaigns around the hotel's different promotions, using audience segmentation to match the nature of each experience.
Entertainment, dining, cultural events and seasonal celebrations offered opportunities to reach different groups of potential visitors. Rather than distributing every campaign to the same broad audience, we tailored targeting to the interests most relevant to each occasion.
Ongoing monitoring helped us assess campaign performance and guide distribution as promotions progressed.
Across the 2 month reporting period, paid media reached 479,000 unique users, extending the visibility of the hotel's campaigns beyond its existing organic audience.

Across the same period, the combination of organic activity and targeted advertising contributed to substantial growth on both platforms.
Facebook recorded 2.58 million in reach, representing 91.9% growth, alongside 1.49 million content views and more than 11,800 interactions.
Instagram reached 38,500, an increase of 63.8%, while generating over 175,000 content views and more than 3,000 interactions.
These results reflected the value of supporting an active promotional calendar with paid distribution, helping individual campaigns reach beyond the hotel's existing audience while contributing to its wider digital presence.
When a Busy Calendar Became a Bigger Digital Presence.
Over just two months, Mount Lavinia Hotel's social platforms recorded substantial growth in visibility and engagement. Rather than being driven by a single promotion, the results reflected consistent activity across dining, entertainment and cultural campaigns, supported by on-site production and targeted advertising.
Beyond the headline figures, Instagram reach increased by 63.8% during the same period. Together, these outcomes showed how a varied events calendar could support a more active and visible digital presence.
